Scott Wentz Scholarship

TRUE HOMES FOUNDATION

The Scott Wentz Scholarship supports the advancement of individuals pursuing careers in the residential construction and land development industry, with a focus on increasing opportunities for underrepresented groups, including minorities and women.

Scott Wentz

Established in 2018, The True Foundation Scholarship was renamed in 2025 in honor of Scott Wentz, one of the founding Executive Partners at True Homes. Over his 18-year career at True Homes, Scott played a key role in helping the company create and provide opportunities for young adults to realize a career in residential construction. His passion for workforce development helped create multiple partnerships with universities and industry organizations.

The True Foundation Scott Wentz Scholarship is awarded annually to individuals from underrepresented groups, including minorities and women, who demonstrate a strong desire to pursue a career in residential construction or land development. Ideal candidates will show leadership potential, a commitment to the industry, and a willingness to be part of its future leadership.

Scott currently serves as a Strategic Advisor for True Homes. He also sits on the Board of Trustees for the National Housing Endowment, where he is Board Chair for the Homebuilding Education and Leadership Program.

Awarding Scholarships to Juniors and Rising Seniors

The True Homes Foundation Scholarship is a $10,000 scholarship that will be annually awarded to 10 rising juniors (or rising seniors with a fifth year) pursuing a degree in Construction Management in the program with an emphasis on residential construction.

In addition to the scholarship, all recipients will have the opportunity to accept a summer internship with True Homes in one of our seven markets across the Carolinas.
